A Dedicated School Board Member for Fifteen Years

Since he graduated from Osbourn, Tim has taken an active interest in Manassas City Public Schools, initially serving as President of the Weems PTO when his daughters attended the school. In 2006, he ran his first successful campaign to join the Manassas City School Board in order to take an even more active role in our schools.

In 2014, Tim was elected chairman of the School Board. During his tenure as chair, all of our schools became academically accredited and the School Board was able to fund numerous projects that benefited our children, including: construction of the new Baldwin Elementary School, completion of the second floor of the Joe Johnson Wing of Osbourn High School, construction of new sports fields at Metz Middle School, and construction of the Gillum Fields at Osbourn High School.

Tim is intimately familiar with the intricacies of government finance, and he was appointed to the School Board’s finance committee soon after he initially joined the School Board. Because of this financial background, when Sanford Williams took over as School Board chairman, Tim returned to the Board’s finance committee as its chairman.

Tim has been very visible throughout the schools. He made the School Board feel approachable to students, teachers, and parents during his term. The city has noticed his accomplishments and dedication, and he was elected to the Board four times.
